Devinder bio

Devinder is an Account Director at McPherson Strategies, where she oversees communications strategies for a diverse base of clients with the goal of amplifying their social impact. She has more than a decade of experience in brand building roles across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Prior to joining McPherson Strategies, Devinder spent five years working on employee, franchisee and brand communications for Restaurant Brands International and their portfolio of brands – Tim Hortons, Burger King and Popeyes. Prior to her experience in the restaurant industry, she worked in banking for five years where she developed media relations strategies for Scotiabank’s economists and capital markets business. Devinder began her career in communications working with a nonprofit organization, Canadian Business for Social Responsibility, and at a business sustainability magazine, Corporate Knights. She fervently believes business can be a force for good if leaders make ESG and sustainability practices central to their decision making process.

Devinder holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from McMaster University and a post graduate certificate in Corporate Communications from Seneca College. She is a Board Member of the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre, a community-based agency dedicated to helping people rise above poverty, improve overall health and wellbeing, and gain greater access to quality education. Outside of office hours, she enjoys drinking chai with her husband, reading with her daughter and taking her dog on long walks.
