Melissa is a tactful writer with experience creating purpose-driven stories about public health and social impact. As an Account Coordinator at McPherson Strategies, she helps clients build compelling narratives to uplift their important projects and perspectives.
In college, Melissa worked with a student-led team to bring an affordable emergency contraception vending machine to her campus, which inspired her to pursue a long-term career in community health and outreach. In writing for various outlets, she’s connected with thought leaders and nonprofit organizers on topics such as food insecurity, reproductive healthcare, and mental health.
Melissa earned her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University, where she received the Peter A. Bertocci Award for Philosophical Excellence, held a Karbank Fellowship in Philosophy, and won awards in writing. She’s published both fiction and editorial work, contributed to media campaigns for businesses and organizations across a wide range of industries, and previously served as a Social Impact Fellow at McPherson Strategies. Her favorite things include watching soccer, collecting trinkets, and being outside.
